Cornbread Cruiser Denim Jacket
Day 20 of Advent Calendar Sale Featuring:
This jacket started as a standard mid-wash denim trucker. I rebuilt it panel by panel using whatever materials felt right in the moment—camo scraps, a chunk of hand-woven striped fabric, and some faux snakeskin pieces I had leftover from another project.
The left sleeve has a long camo insert running down the arm. The front shoulder is patched in with that yellow/blue woven textile, stitched on with a loose hand so the edge can breathe and fray over time. The collar has a camo overlay too. The “Hot Water Cornbread” patch is from an old shirt and is stitched straight onto the denim.
On the back, both side panels are replaced with snakeskin-textured fabric, and the shoulder has another piece of the striped woven cloth. All the patches are appliquéd raw-edge—straight stitch around the perimeter, no satin binding—so everything can age naturally with wear.
